Delaware vs. Raptors 905

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario (Interstat) — The Raptors 905 used a dominant first half to build an insurmountable lead and cruised to a 137-113 victory over the Delaware Blue Coats in a G League game Sunday at Hershey Centre.

The home team established control early, erupting for 36 points in the opening quarter and adding 38 more in the second to take a 74-58 halftime lead. Delaware, despite a 35-point second quarter of its own, could never recover from the early deficit. The Raptors 905 maintained their offensive efficiency after the break, matching Delaware’s 34 points in the third quarter and closing out the game with a 29-point fourth.

The most important part of the game was the Raptors 905’s explosive and balanced start, which effectively decided the contest before halftime. Their initial 36-point quarter was fueled by immediate outside shooting, as Tyreke Key connected on a 25-foot three-pointer just 39 seconds into the game. The offensive onslaught continued unabated, with the Raptors 905 assisting on nine of their first 11 field goals. A 10-2 run midway through the first, capped by a Quincy Guerrier put-back, extended their lead to 24-11, forcing an early Delaware timeout. The Blue Coats never got the margin back to single digits after the opening minutes, as the Raptors 905’s offensive rhythm and defensive pressure created a deficit too large to overcome.

Teddy Allen led all scorers for Delaware with 28 points, adding six rebounds in 28 minutes. DeAndre Williams contributed 18 points and six rebounds, while Kennedy Chandler had 18 points and six assists.

The Raptors 905 showcased a deep and coordinated attack. Jonathan Mogbo recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Tyreke Key scored 23 points, and Jarkel Joiner added 18 off the bench. Point guard A.J. Hoggard orchestrated the offense with 11 assists to go with his 11 points.

With the win, Raptors 905 improved to 32-12, solidifying their position as one of the league’s top teams. Delaware fell to 18-22 with the loss. The teams had split two previous meetings in December, both won by Raptors 905.

Delaware travels to face the Greensboro Swarm on Tuesday, while Raptors 905 visit the Westchester Knicks on Thursday.
