Sioux Falls vs. Osceola

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (Interstat) — In a game defined by relentless offensive surges and dramatic momentum swings, the Osceola Magic outlasted the Sioux Falls Skyforce 113-106 in overtime in a G League matchup Tuesday night at Silver Spurs Arena.

The contest, a rematch of a Skyforce victory just two days prior, lived up to its billing as a high-stakes battle between two of the league’s top teams. It was ultimately decided by Osceola’s composure in the extra period and a dominant performance from its frontcourt.

The most critical sequence of the game unfolded in the final minutes of regulation and the opening moments of overtime. After trailing for much of the night, Sioux Falls mounted a furious comeback in the fourth quarter, erasing a deficit that had reached double digits. The Skyforce’s Josh Christopher, who finished with 23 points, six rebounds and six assists, drew a foul on a 3-point attempt with 15 seconds left and calmly sank all three free throws to tie the score at 106 and force overtime.

However, the Magic seized immediate control in the extra frame. Osceola’s Reece Beekman stole the ball on Sioux Falls’ first possession, leading to a Phillip Wheeler 3-pointer. On the next trip, Beekman found Javonte Smart for a layup. After another Skyforce turnover, Alex Morales cleaned up a miss with a putback, capping a decisive 7-0 run to start overtime that Sioux Falls never recovered from.

The game was an offensive showcase through three quarters, with both teams shooting at a high clip. The teams were tied at 60 at halftime after each scored 26 points in the first quarter and 34 in the second. Sioux Falls held a 91-83 lead heading into the fourth, but managed only 15 points in the final period as Osceola’s defense tightened.

Alex Morales was the catalyst for Osceola, posting a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds to go with five assists. Phillip Wheeler provided a crucial scoring punch off the bench with a game-high 27 points. Will Baker anchored the defense with nine rebounds and three blocks.

For Sioux Falls, Trevor Keels added 24 points, while Dennis Smith had 15 points and five assists. Keshad Johnson contributed a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

The victory improved Osceola’s record to 26-13, solidifying its position near the top of the league standings. Sioux Falls fell to 22-19 with the hard-fought road loss.

Both teams return to action later this week. Osceola hosts Maine on Sunday, while Sioux Falls travels to face Memphis on Thursday.
