Noblesville vs. Mexico City

Preview: Noblesville Boom at Mexico City Capitanes

CIUDAD DE MÉXICO (Interstat) — The Mexico City Capitanes, holding a winning record and a significant statistical edge, host the struggling Noblesville Boom in a G League matchup Sunday at Estadio Azteca.

The Capitanes (21-16) enter as heavy favorites, projected with a 73.6% probability to win by Interstat’s ELO system. They look to rebound from a narrow 118-117 road loss to the Iowa Wolves on Friday. Prior to that, Mexico City had won three of its last four, including a pair of close victories over Salt Lake City last week.

Mexico City’s consistency has been bolstered by forward Andersson Garcia, who has recorded a double-double in five consecutive games. Over that stretch, he averaged 14.6 points and 13.0 rebounds, providing relentless energy on the interior.

They face a Noblesville squad (19-20) trying to halt a two-game skid, most recently a 135-133 defeat at Rio Grande Valley on Friday. The Boom have lost five of their last eight games and sit below .500 on the season.

The Boom will rely on the versatile play of Jalen Slawson, who has been a statistical force. In his last eight games, Slawson has averaged 18.8 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 6.6 assists, including a triple-double (26 points, 10 rebounds, 12 assists) in a Feb. 21 overtime win over Capital City. His all-around production will be critical for Noblesville to compete.

This contest opens a quick two-game set between the teams, who will meet again at the same venue on Tuesday, March 3. For Mexico City, it begins a stretch of four home games in their next five contests. Noblesville continues a lengthy road trip before returning home on March 5.

Tip-off is scheduled for Sunday, March 1, 2026, in the Mexican capital.
