San Diego vs. Santa Cruz
BONNY DOON, Calif. (Interstat) — The Santa Cruz Warriors will seek to halt a recent slide and avenge a narrow loss when they host the San Diego Clippers in a G League matchup on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Kaiser Permanente Arena.
The teams are meeting for the second time in three days, with San Diego (22-19) escaping with a 130-126 road victory this past Friday. The Clippers have won all three meetings this season.
Despite holding the superior record, San Diego enters as a statistical underdog. Interstat’s ELO system projects Santa Cruz (12-24) with a 58.5% probability to win, a nod to home-court advantage and recent competitive performances.
The Warriors, however, are mired in a difficult stretch, having lost five of their last six games. Their most recent outing was Friday’s four-point defeat to these same Clippers, preceded by a 128-126 loss at Rip City on Tuesday where Charles Bassey shined with 24 points and 10 rebounds. The center remains a key player to watch for Santa Cruz.
San Diego arrives with momentum from Friday’s win but has been inconsistent, alternating wins and losses over its past five contests. Guard Sean Pedulla has been a driving force, averaging over 22 points per game in his last three outings. He scored 24 points in the victory over Santa Cruz and followed that with 24 points and seven assists in a loss at Rio Grande Valley on Wednesday.
The Clippers’ offense has been potent, regularly scoring in the 120s and 130s, but their defense will be tested by a Santa Cruz team desperate to reverse its fortunes in front of its home crowd. The Warriors’ upcoming schedule offers little respite, with a road game at Stockton awaiting on Monday.
Sunday’s contest tips off a critical homestand for Santa Cruz, which will play four of its next five at Kaiser Permanente Arena. San Diego continues a road-heavy portion of its schedule before returning home for a stretch in mid-March.
