EDINBURG, Texas (Interstat) — The San Diego Clippers escaped with a 123-122 victory over the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in a G League game Tuesday night at Bert Ogden Arena. The Clippers, who led by as many as 17, survived a frantic fourth-quarter rally by the Vipers, who outscored San Diego 38-23 in the final period but fell just short.
San Diego improved to 21-18 behind a pivotal 42-point third quarter that built a substantial cushion. Rio Grande Valley, which got a team-high 38 points in the fourth, dropped to 21-15.
