Capital City vs. Noblesville

Preview: Capital City Go-Go at Noblesville Boom

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (Interstat) — The Capital City Go-Go and Noblesville Boom, two teams jockeying for position in the G League standings, will meet Sunday at the Arena at Innovation Mile in a quick rematch.

The Boom (18-18) defeated the Go-Go (17-18) decisively, 74-52, just one day prior on Saturday. Sunday’s contest offers Capital City an immediate chance for redemption and to even its season record.

Noblesville holds a narrow half-game edge in the standings. Both clubs are looking to build momentum ahead of challenging upcoming schedules. The Boom will embark on a four-game road trip after this contest, while the Go-Go return home for a brief stop before hitting the road again.

A key matchup will feature Capital City guard Keshon Gilbert against Noblesville forward Gabe McGlothan. Gilbert is coming off a stellar 24-point, seven-rebound, five-assist performance in a 113-110 win over Osceola on Thursday. Over his last six games, he has averaged 18 points and 6.7 assists.

McGlothan provides consistent interior production for the Boom. He recorded a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds in a narrow 124-120 loss to Cleveland on Thursday. In his last eight appearances, he has averaged 18.5 points and 7.1 rebounds.

In Saturday’s meeting, the Boom’s defense stifled the Go-Go, holding them to a season-low in points. Capital City will need more from its supporting cast after relying heavily on Gilbert and Leaky Black, who had a near triple-double Thursday with nine points, 11 rebounds and seven assists.

For Noblesville, guard Cameron Hildreth, who had 19 points, eight rebounds and six assists against Cleveland, will look to facilitate alongside McGlothan.

Sunday’s tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. EST.
