Greensboro vs. Wisconsin
Preview: Greensboro Swarm at Wisconsin Herd
OSHKOSH, Wis. (Interstat) — A matchup of teams heading in opposite directions will take place Saturday when the Greensboro Swarm visit the Wisconsin Herd in a G League contest at Oshkosh Arena.
The Swarm (24-10) enter as one of the league’s top teams, while the Herd (11-24) have struggled to find consistency. This is the second leg of a back-to-back set between the teams, following a game Friday night.
Greensboro has won four of its last five games, including a 119-107 victory over Capital City on Feb. 12. Center P.J. Hall has been a force for the Swarm, averaging a double-double over his last seven games. He is coming off a 20-point, 16-rebound, 3-block performance in that win over the Go-Go. Marcus Garrett (26 points) and D.J. Rodman (18 points) also provided significant scoring in that contest.
Wisconsin looks to snap a five-game losing skid, most recently a 124-110 home loss to Birmingham on Feb. 10. Guard Mark Sears has been a bright spot, erupting for 33 points and 6 assists in that defeat. He has averaged 22.4 points over his last five outings. Cormac Ryan added 20 points in the loss to the Squadron.
The Swarm’s success has been built on both ends of the floor, ranking among league leaders in offensive rating and defensive efficiency. The Herd have been plagued by defensive lapses, allowing an average of 112.3 points during their current losing streak.
Saturday’s game tips off at 7 p.m. CST. Following this contest, Greensboro begins a two-game road trip at Memphis on Tuesday. Wisconsin also hits the road for a two-game set, starting at Windy City on Tuesday.
