Raptors 905 vs. Windy City
Raptors Look to Continue Dominance Against Windy City Bulls
HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. (Interstat) — The NBA G League’s top team visits the Sears Centre on Saturday as the Raptors 905 face the Windy City Bulls.
The Raptors (27-8), the affiliate of the Toronto Raptors, bring the league’s best record into the contest. They are projected as 60.1% favorites according to Interstat’s ELO system. Windy City (17-16), the Chicago Bulls’ affiliate, looks to build momentum after a 116-111 home win over Grand Rapids on Feb. 12.
This is the second leg of a back-to-back set between the teams. On Friday, Raptors 905 edged Windy City 135-133 in a high-scoring affair.
A key matchup will feature two of the league’s hottest wings. Raptors forward A.J. Lawson is averaging 23.0 points over his last five games, including a 35-point, 7-rebound performance in a 134-124 loss at Cleveland on Feb. 12. Windy City’s Caleb Grill is coming off a season-high 26 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists in 40 minutes in the win over Grand Rapids.
The Raptors have shown some vulnerability recently, dropping three of their last six after a sustained period of dominance. Their last outing was the Feb. 12 loss at Cleveland, where Lawson, David Roddy (28 points) and Julian Reese (24 points, 13 rebounds) led the offense.
Windy City has been inconsistent, alternating wins and losses over its past six games. In their last victory, Grill, Mouhamadou Gueye (18 points, 13 rebounds) and Mac McClung (24 points, 8 assists) provided balanced production.
Following Saturday’s game, Raptors 905 begin a two-game road series at College Park on Tuesday. Windy City remains home to host Wisconsin on Tuesday.
