SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Interstat) — The Valley Suns built a massive early lead and withstood a furious Sioux Falls rally to earn a 116-110 G League victory over the Skyforce on Friday night at Sanford Pentagon.

Valley dominated the first quarter, taking a 26-14 lead, and extended it to 54-52 by halftime despite a 38-point second quarter from Sioux Falls. The Suns pushed their advantage back to nine entering the fourth and held on for the win, overcoming a national statistical projection that heavily favored the home team.

The victory improved Valley’s record to 11-24. Sioux Falls, which got key performances from Dennis Smith and Cam Carter, fell to 20-18. The teams will meet again at the same venue Sunday.
