Raptors 905 vs. Windy City

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. (Interstat) — In a high-octane offensive showcase typical of the G League, Raptors 905 outlasted the Windy City Bulls 141-135 on Friday night at Sears Centre, overcoming a blistering start by the home team with a dominant fourth-quarter performance.

The game’s pivotal shift came after a third quarter that saw 11 lead changes. Entering the final period with a narrow two-point lead, Raptors 905 unleashed a 45-point quarter to seize control. The run was fueled by relentless offensive rebounding and timely three-point shooting. Raptors 905 secured 16 offensive boards for the game, leading to 29 second-chance points and allowing them to overcome a slightly lower shooting percentage than the Bulls.

Windy City opened the game on fire, scoring 44 points in the first quarter behind the dynamic guard play of Mac McClung and Yuki Kawamura. McClung finished with a game-high 34 points and seven assists, while Kawamura added 23 points, nine assists and eight rebounds. Center Lachlan Olbrich, from Adelaide, Australia, contributed 24 points and six assists for the Bulls.

Raptors 905, however, weathered the early storm with balanced scoring. Jonathan Mogbo, the team’s top performer, anchored the effort with 22 points and nine rebounds, facilitating the offense with five assists. A.J. Lawson scored a team-high 26 points, and Jamison Battle added 22 points and eight assists. Olivier Sarr posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

The key statistical divergence came in shot volume and ball security. Despite shooting 57% from the field to Raptors 905’s 52.6%, and 53.6% from three-point range to the visitors’ 45%, the Bulls’ 18 turnovers and fewer offensive rebounds resulted in 102 shot attempts for Raptors 905 compared to their own 86. Raptors 905 converted those extra possessions efficiently, posting an offensive rating of 137.6 points per 100 possessions.

The victory improved Raptors 905’s record to 28-8, solidifying their position as one of the league’s top teams. Windy City fell to an even 17-17. The two teams are scheduled for a quick rematch at the same venue on Saturday night.

According to Interstat’s ELO system, Raptors 905 had a 60.10 percent probability to win the contest.
