Austin vs. San Diego

Preview: Austin Spurs at San Diego Clippers

SAN DIEGO (Interstat) — The surging Austin Spurs, owners of the G League’s best record, visit the San Diego Clippers on Thursday night at Frontwave Arena in a Western Conference matchup.

Austin (24-9) enters on a two-game win streak following a high-scoring road sweep of the Iowa Wolves last week. The Spurs have won seven of their last ten games and showcase one of the league’s most versatile talents in forward Harrison Ingram.

Ingram is averaging a near triple-double over his last five contests, posting 24.2 points, 13.2 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game in that span. He is coming off a dominant 25-point, 10-rebound, 6-assist performance in a 135-120 win at Iowa on Feb. 11. Center James Banks (10 points, 13 rebounds) and guard Jayden Nunn (16 points, 6 assists) were also key contributors in that victory.

San Diego (19-17) looks to rebound after a 128-116 road loss to the South Bay Lakers on Feb. 11. The Clippers have been inconsistent, alternating wins and losses over their past six games.

Guard John Poulakidas leads San Diego’s offensive charge, averaging 20.0 points over his last five games. He poured in a season-high 30 points in the loss to South Bay. Playmaker Jaelen House facilitates the offense, dishing out 17 assists in that same game.

The teams meet again Friday night in San Diego to conclude a brief two-game set. The Spurs then host Memphis on Feb. 22, while the Clippers begin a four-game road trip at Rio Grande Valley on Feb. 24.

Thursday’s game tips off at 7 p.m. PST.
