Rip City vs. College Park
ATLANTA (Interstat) — The Rip City Remix, fueled by a dominant first half and a relentless offensive performance, avenged a narrow loss from two days prior with a decisive 133-108 victory over the College Park Skyhawks in a G League matchup Monday night at Gateway Center.
The Remix, the visiting team, seized control early and never relented, building a 70-48 halftime lead. They scored 35 points in each of the first two quarters, shooting efficiently and capitalizing on a series of Skyhawks turnovers and missed shots. The lead ballooned to as many as 37 points in the third quarter before College Park mounted a late, cosmetic rally in the fourth.
The most critical phase of the game was the opening period, where Rip City established a tone of overwhelming superiority. From the opening tip, the Remix executed with precision. Andrew Carr hit an early 3-pointer, Sean Pedulla orchestrated the offense with multiple assists, and the Remix defense forced the Skyhawks into difficult attempts. A key sequence saw Rip City score eight unanswered points early, capped by a Jayson Kent layup off a Pedulla assist that forced a full College Park timeout just over four minutes into the game with the Skyhawks trailing 17-7. The Remix lead grew to 14 points late in the quarter before College Park’s Erik Reynolds hit a 3-pointer to cut the deficit to 10. Rip City closed the quarter with a 35-27 advantage, a margin that would only expand before halftime.
Sean Pedulla was the engine for Rip City, facilitating the offense throughout his minutes. His playmaking set the table for a balanced Remix attack that saw seven players score in double figures, though specific statlines were not provided. For College Park, Erik Reynolds provided a scoring spark off the bench, particularly from beyond the arc, while Basheer Jihad was active defensively with several blocks.
The victory improved Rip City’s record to 20-15, solidifying their position in the Western Conference. The loss dropped the Skyhawks to 9-25 on the season. The result flipped the script from the teams’ previous meeting last Saturday, when College Park edged Rip City 141-136.
The Remix’s offensive output of 133 points surpassed the projection of Interstat’s game simulator, which had forecast a 124-100 Rip City win. The team’s performance also validated the ELO system’s pregame probability, which gave Rip City a 70% chance to win.
Rip City travels to face Birmingham on Thursday. College Park will visit Noblesville on the same night.
