Memphis vs. Motor City

Preview: Memphis Hustle at Motor City Cruise

WALKER, Mich. (Interstat) — The Motor City Cruise will seek immediate revenge when they host the Memphis Hustle in a G League rematch on Tuesday at DeltaPlex Arena, just two days after falling to the same opponent.

The Cruise (15-17) fell 120-109 to the visiting Hustle (10-19) on Sunday, a result that snapped Motor City’s three-game winning streak. Memphis, despite its league-worst record, has now won two of its last five.

A key matchup will feature two of the league’s most versatile forwards. Memphis is led by Tyler Burton, who enters on a scoring tear. Over his last eight games, Burton is averaging 21.9 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.1 assists, including a 37-point outburst at Iowa on Jan. 24 and a 29-point performance last Friday at Cleveland.

Motor City counters with Drew Peterson, who is coming off a near triple-double. In Saturday’s road win over Cleveland, Peterson logged 21 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists in 43 minutes. Over his last seven contests, he has averaged 14.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 6.1 assists, providing crucial all-around play for the Cruise.

The Hustle’s victory on Sunday marked a rare bright spot in a difficult season, though they remain 2-8 in their last 10 games overall. The Cruise, hovering near .500, have been more consistent lately, going 6-4 over the same span and winning five of their last seven prior to Sunday’s loss.

Tuesday’s contest is the second of two scheduled meetings between the teams this season. Following the game, Memphis returns home for a two-game set against San Diego beginning Friday. Motor City begins a three-game road trip on Sunday at Raptors 905.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST at DeltaPlex Arena in Walker.
