San Diego vs. Salt Lake City
Preview: San Diego Clippers at Salt Lake City Stars
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (Interstat) — The surging Salt Lake City Stars host the .500 San Diego Clippers in a G League matchup Monday at Bruin Arena.
The Stars (19-12) sit among the Western Conference’s top teams, while the Clippers (15-15) look to build momentum from a last-second victory.
San Diego enters after a dramatic 112-111 home win over College Park on Jan. 30, fueled by 27 points each from Patrick Baldwin Jr. and Jaelen House. Baldwin, the Clippers’ player to watch, is averaging 21.7 points and 6.7 rebounds over his last 10 games, including a 36-point performance on Jan. 10.
Salt Lake City aims to rebound from a 125-118 road loss to South Bay on Jan. 29, despite 27 points from Max Abmas and 29 from Sean East. Abmas, the Stars’ key guard, has been volatile, scoring 27 and 26 points in two of his last four outings but held to single digits in two others during a recent 2-8 stretch for the team.
The season series is split 1-1. San Diego won 113-106 at home on Nov. 14, 2025, before Salt Lake City responded with a 120-92 rout in San Diego two days later.
The game features a contrast in recent form. The Clippers have won three of their last five, while the Stars have lost eight of their last ten, though several were narrow defeats, including two in overtime.
Salt Lake City’s home-court advantage at Bruin Arena could be pivotal as they seek to stabilize their slide. San Diego will rely on Baldwin’s versatile scoring and the backcourt duo of Baldwin and House to challenge a Stars defense that has allowed an average of 118.2 points in its last five games.
The teams meet again in Salt Lake City on Wednesday.
