Cleveland vs. College Park

COLLEGE PARK, Ga. (Interstat) — The Cleveland Charge unleashed a dominant offensive performance, scoring at least 34 points in three separate quarters, to defeat the College Park Skyhawks 133 to 115 in a G League matchup Monday night at Gateway Center Arena.

The Charge, who improved to 18-11, set the tone early with a 34-point first quarter and never trailed, building a double-digit lead by halftime and withstanding a high-scoring second-quarter surge from the Skyhawks.

Cleveland’s offensive execution was relentless. After taking a 71-68 lead into halftime, the Charge opened the third quarter with a decisive 21-7 run to break the game open. The surge turned a narrow three-point edge into a commanding 92-75 advantage, effectively sealing the outcome. The Charge shot efficiently throughout the contest, while their defense generated numerous turnovers that fueled their transition game.

The Skyhawks, who fell to 8-23, were led by a dynamic offensive display in the second quarter where they erupted for 41 points, briefly turning a deficit into a back-and-forth affair. However, they could not sustain that pace or find consistent stops against Cleveland’s multifaceted attack.

Cleveland’s balance was key, with several players contributing to the high point total. The Charge consistently found easy baskets inside and capitalized on second-chance opportunities.

For College Park, the loss continued a difficult season, though they showed flashes of offensive capability, particularly during their second-quarter outburst. They will look to regroup quickly as these two teams meet again in two days for a rematch at Gateway Center.

The game’s most critical sequence was Cleveland’s third-quarter opening run. Coming out of halftime with only a three-point lead, the Charge immediately reasserted control with stifling defense and efficient scoring. This stretch, where they outscored College Park 21-7, transformed a competitive game into a comfortable lead that would not be challenged in the fourth quarter. It demonstrated Cleveland’s ability to elevate its play and execute at a level the Skyhawks could not match for sustained periods.

Cleveland next plays at College Park again on Wednesday. The Skyhawks’ next game is also that rematch with the Charge.
