Rio Grande Valley vs. Oklahoma City
OKLAHOMA CITY (Interstat) — The surging Rio Grande Valley Vipers look to continue their climb up the G League standings when they visit the struggling Oklahoma City Blue on Sunday at Cox Convention Center.
The Vipers (16-13) enter the contest having won five of their last seven games, including a 134-112 victory over Rip City on Jan. 24. Their recent success contrasts sharply with the Blue’s (8-22) fortunes; Oklahoma City has lost three straight and nine of its last 10.
Rio Grande Valley holds a narrow edge in the season series, winning the most recent matchup 120-119 in Oklahoma City on Dec. 12, 2025. The Blue took the first meeting 116-114 on Nov. 7.
A key matchup will feature two of the league’s most productive guards. The Vipers are led by J.D. Davison, who is coming off a dominant 35-point, 11-rebound, 8-assist performance in a 136-129 loss at Iowa on Jan. 26. Over his last two games, Davison has averaged 30.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.5 assists.
He will be countered by Oklahoma City’s Anthony Pritchard, who has been a bright spot during the team’s skid. Pritchard is averaging 16.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 7.3 assists over his last three contests, including a 26-point, 7-rebound, 6-assist effort in a loss to Windy City on Jan. 26.
The Vipers’ offense, which scored 129 points in its last outing behind Davison, Tristen Newton (30 points) and Efe Abogidi (23 points), will test a Blue defense that allowed 123 points in an overtime loss to Windy City on Wednesday.
For Oklahoma City to snap its losing streak, it will need to find consistent scoring beyond Pritchard and improve defensively after yielding an average of 118.3 points during its three-game slide.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST Sunday. The Blue host Santa Cruz on Tuesday, while the Vipers return home to face Valley on Wednesday.
