Iowa vs. Santa Cruz

IOWA WOLVES (18-12) AT SANTA CRUZ WARRIORS (9-19)

Preview

BONNY DOON, Calif. (Interstat) — A surging Iowa Wolves squad will look to continue its climb up the G League standings when it visits the struggling Santa Cruz Warriors on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, at Kaiser Permanente Arena.

The Wolves enter on a three-game winning streak, having averaged 125.3 points per game in victories over Memphis, Rio Grande Valley and Mexico City this past week. Their 18-12 record stands in stark contrast to the Warriors’ 9-19 mark. Santa Cruz has lost two straight and seven of its last ten games.

Iowa forward Alize Johnson has been a dominant force, posting nine double-doubles in his last eleven contests. He is coming off a 26-point, 12-rebound performance in Tuesday’s 113-104 win over Mexico City, part of a prolific January where he averaged a double-double. He will be the primary focus for a Santa Cruz defense that has allowed 113.8 points per game this season.

The Warriors will counter with forward Jack Clark, who is coming off a season-high 45 minutes in Monday’s 126-113 loss at Salt Lake City, where he recorded 25 points and 11 rebounds. Clark’s playing time and production have fluctuated, but he remains a key piece for Santa Cruz.

This is the second meeting in as many nights between the teams, following a Friday night matchup at the same venue. The result of that contest was not provided, but it sets the stage for a quick turnaround and potential adjustments.

For Iowa, consistent contributions have come from Enrique Freeman, who had 17 points and 14 rebounds Tuesday, and Jules Bernard, who added 23 points and 7 assists. Santa Cruz will need similar all-around efforts from Taevion Kinsey (19 points, 9 assists Monday) and Franco Miller (21 points, 8 rebounds) to compete.

The Wolves’ upcoming schedule includes a road game at Stockton on Tuesday. The Warriors will embark on a road trip, starting at Oklahoma City on Tuesday.
