Sioux Falls vs. Texas

Skyforce, Legends Set for Showdown in Frisco

FRISCO, Texas (Interstat) — The surging Sioux Falls Skyforce visit the struggling Texas Legends in a G League matchup Saturday at Dr Pepper Arena, featuring two of the league’s most prolific individual performers.

Sioux Falls (17-13) arrives looking to rebound from a 97-115 road loss to Birmingham on Wednesday. Despite the defeat, guard Jahmir Young continued his spectacular January, pouring in 25 points and dishing seven assists in just 16 minutes off the bench. Young has been on a historic run, averaging 29.1 points and 9.3 assists over his last 11 games, including four triple-doubles. His play has propelled the Skyforce to wins in seven of their last twelve outings.

Texas (12-17) seeks to end a three-game skid, most recently a 119-126 overtime loss at Rip City on Wednesday. Forward Jeremiah Robinson-Earl has been a consistent bright spot, recording a double-double in that contest with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Over his last nine games, Robinson-Earl has averaged 18.7 points and 12.3 rebounds, providing a dominant interior presence for the Legends.

The teams represent a study in recent momentum. Sioux Falls boasts a top-tier offense fueled by Young’s dynamic playmaking and scoring. Texas, however, has lost five of its last six and will need to find answers defensively after allowing an average of 119.3 points during that stretch.

For the Skyforce, support for Young has come from Dennis Smith, who had 18 points and five assists against Birmingham, and center Vladislav Goldin, who adds a defensive presence with nearly two blocks per game. The Legends counter with a versatile roster featuring Robinson-Earl and guard Jordan Hall, who is coming off a 24-point, eight-assist performance.

This game is the first of a quick home-and-home set, with the teams meeting again Sunday in Frisco. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CST Saturday.
