Westchester vs. Maine

Preview: Westchester Knicks at Maine Celtics

PORTLAND, Maine (Interstat) — The Maine Celtics, riding high in the G League standings, will look to continue their dominance over the struggling Westchester Knicks when the teams meet Saturday at the Portland Exposition Building.

The Celtics (18-12) have won both matchups this season, cruising to a 122-95 victory on Nov. 30 and a 98-84 win on Nov. 28. They enter on a strong run, having won seven of their last 10 games despite a 122-119 overtime loss to Grand Rapids on Thursday.

Guard Ron Harper is the catalyst for Maine. He erupted for 37 points, five rebounds and four assists in the overtime defeat, continuing a stretch of prolific scoring that includes a 24-point performance in a win over College Park on Jan. 18.

Conversely, Westchester (6-23) owns the league’s worst record and has lost three straight, including a 110-102 defeat at Osceola on Thursday. The Knicks have allowed 124 and 110 points in their last two games, highlighting a season-long defensive struggle.

A bright spot for the Knicks has been the recent play of Pacome Dadiet. He scored 26 points in a win over Windy City on Jan. 23 and followed with 20 points against Osceola on Jan. 24. His offensive production will be critical for a team that has been outscored by an average of 17 points in the two prior meetings with Maine.

The game tips off at 7 p.m. EST on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026. It is the first of a quick two-game set between the affiliates of the NBA’s Boston Celtics and New York Knicks, with a rematch scheduled for Sunday at the same venue.

Maine currently sits in a playoff position in the Eastern Conference, while Westchester faces a massive uphill climb in the second half of the season. The Celtics’ balanced attack, led by Harper, will test a Knicks defense that ranks near the bottom of the league in points allowed.
