Raptors 905 vs. Osceola
Raptors Look to Rebound Against Surging Magic in G League Showdown
KISSIMMEE, Fla. (Interstat) — The NBA G League’s top team seeks to avoid a rare losing streak when the Raptors 905 visit the Osceola Magic on Wednesday night at Silver Spurs Arena.
The Raptors (24-4), the affiliate of the Toronto Raptors, enter with the league’s best record but are coming off a 109-93 road loss to the Long Island Nets on Friday. That defeat snapped a stretch where they had won five of their previous six games.
They will face a hot Osceola squad (17-9) that has won seven of its last eight, including a dominant 124-103 victory at Westchester on Saturday. The Magic also edged the Raptors 112-109 just two days ago in a tightly contested matchup, adding immediate stakes to this rematch.
A key battle will feature two of the league’s most productive players. For Raptors 905, forward David Roddy is a consistent triple-double threat. Over his last 10 games, he has averaged 12.6 points, 8.6 rebounds and 5.5 assists, including a 20-point, 8-rebound performance in the loss to Long Island.
Osceola counters with high-scoring guard Lester Quinones, who is averaging 21.6 points over his last eight contests. He is coming off a 30-point, 11-redouble-double against Westchester and has scored 30 points twice in his last four outings.
The Raptors’ recent success has been built on a deep roster. Center Olivier Sarr added 13 points and seven rebounds against Long Island, while guard Tyreke Key contributed 15 points. They will need that balance to counter an Osceola offense that has topped 120 points in four of its last five wins.
Wednesday’s contest is the second of a three-game road trip for Raptors 905. Osceola continues a five-game homestand, with a game against Westchester slated for Thursday.
Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. EST.
