Noblesville vs. Wisconsin
Preview: Noblesville Boom at Wisconsin Herd
OSHKOSH, Wis. (Interstat) — Two teams looking to build momentum in the G League’s Central Division will meet Thursday when the Noblesville Boom visit the Wisconsin Herd at Oshkosh Arena.
The Boom (11-15) arrive after a high-scoring 127-112 victory over Delaware on Monday, while the Herd (10-17) are coming off a 114-103 win against Westchester the same night. Both clubs sit in the lower half of the conference standings, making this a contest with significant implications for early positioning.
Noblesville has won two of its last three games, fueled by an offense that has averaged 122 points in those victories. The Boom are led by guard Kam Jones, who is coming off a strong all-around performance of 23 points, five rebounds and eight assists in Monday’s win. Over his last three games, Jones has averaged 17.3 points and 7.7 assists.
Wisconsin has shown flashes, splitting its last six contests. The Herd will rely on forward Cormac Ryan, who has been a consistent scoring threat. Ryan poured in 25 points and grabbed six rebounds in the team’s most recent victory and is averaging 21.8 points over his last 10 games.
The season series favors Noblesville, which won both prior matchups this season. The Boom defeated the Herd 118-98 on Dec. 11 and 111-109 on Nov. 30, both games played in Noblesville.
For the Boom, containing Ryan will be a priority, while the Herd must find an answer for Jones’s playmaking and the balanced attack that saw Ethan Thompson (22 points) and Jalen Slawson (11 rebounds, seven assists) also excel in their latest outing.
Thursday’s game is the first of a quick home-and-home set between the teams, who will meet again in Oshkosh on Saturday.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST.
