Valley vs. Santa Cruz
Preview: Valley Suns at Santa Cruz Warriors
BONNY DOON, Calif. (Jan. 19, 2026) (Interstat) — Two teams seeking momentum in a stalled season will meet Monday when the Valley Suns visit the Santa Cruz Warriors in a G League matchup at Kaiser Permanente Arena.
Both clubs enter with identical 6-17 records across all competitions, sharing the bottom of the Western Conference standings. The game is the second of a quick back-to-back set between the teams, following a meeting on Saturday, Jan. 17.
Valley arrives after a high-scoring 137-127 home loss to Iowa on Thursday. The Suns have lost three of their last four, though their offense has been potent, averaging 122.5 points over that stretch.
The Suns are led by point guard Damion Baugh, who is in the midst of a stellar individual run. Over his last nine games, Baugh is averaging 24.6 points, 7.8 rebounds and 8.0 assists, including a 28-point, 10-rebound, 15-assist triple-double in a win on Jan. 7. In Thursday’s loss, he posted 29 points and 11 assists.
Santa Cruz looks to snap a two-game skid after a 122-118 defeat at Mexico City on Jan. 11. The Warriors had previously won three straight before their recent losses.
Guard Taevion Kinsey is a key contributor for Santa Cruz, averaging 13.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.4 assists over his last seven contests. He scored 18 points in a road win at Austin on Jan. 2. Center Marques Bolden, who had 20 points and five rebounds in the Mexico City loss, provides an interior presence.
The recent head-to-head series has been tightly contested. Valley won the most recent meeting, 114-106 in Santa Cruz on Dec. 7, 2025. The teams split a two-game set in early December, with Santa Cruz winning 111-110 on Dec. 2 before Valley took a 124-119 overtime decision on Dec. 3.
Following Monday’s game, Valley begins a three-game homestand against Stockton on Wednesday. Santa Cruz’s next home action is a two-game set against Sioux Falls starting Friday.
