Delaware vs. Noblesville
Preview: Blue Coats, Boom Meet With Identical Records
NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (Interstat) — Two teams looking to halt slides will meet when the Delaware Blue Coats visit the Noblesville Boom in a G League matchup Sunday at the Arena at Innovation Mile.
Both teams enter with identical 9-15 records across all competitions and are coming off losses in their most recent outings.
Delaware fell 139-113 at College Park on Wednesday. Despite the lopsided score, forward DeAndre Williams continued his strong play, posting 27 points and 11 rebounds in 29 minutes. MarJon Beauchamp added 28 points, seven rebounds and five assists for the Blue Coats.
Williams has been a consistent force, averaging a double-double (18.7 points, 10.0 rebounds) over his last three games, including a 20-point, 10-rebound performance in a road win over Cleveland on Dec. 27.
Noblesville is looking to rebound from a 102-92 home loss to Grand Rapids on Thursday. Guard Kam Jones filled the stat sheet in that defeat, recording 14 points, seven rebounds and 10 assists in 39 minutes. Ethan Thompson led the Boom with 25 points.
Jones has been a key facilitator, averaging 7.5 assists over his last two contests, including a 15-point, five-assist effort in a road win over Windy City on Jan. 11.
The game will be the first of a two-game set between the teams, as they are scheduled to meet again at the same venue Monday. For Delaware, it opens a brief two-game road trip before returning home. For Noblesville, it begins a stretch of four home games out of their next five.
The matchup features two of the league’s lower-ranked teams seeking momentum. Delaware has shown offensive firepower, scoring 141 points in a win earlier this month, but has struggled defensively, allowing an average of 128.3 points in its last three losses. Noblesville has split its last four games, with the wins coming by a combined 11 points.
Tip-off is scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
