Salt Lake City vs. Sioux Falls

Preview: Salt Lake City Stars at Sioux Falls Skyforce

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Interstat) — The surging Sioux Falls Skyforce host the Salt Lake City Stars in a key G League matchup Saturday at the Sanford Pentagon.

The Stars (17-8) enter with the better overall record but have stumbled recently, losing four of their last five games. Their most recent result was a 120-118 home loss to Austin on Thursday. Sioux Falls (14-10) has been more consistent, winning five of its last seven, including a 119-107 road victory at Memphis on Tuesday.

A compelling individual matchup will feature Salt Lake City’s Oscar Tshiebwe against Sioux Falls’ Josh Christopher. Tshiebwe, a dominant force on the glass, is averaging a double-double and posted 20 and 21 rebounds in his last two games, respectively. His physical presence inside will be a primary focus for the Stars.

Christopher has been the engine for the Skyforce, showcasing all-around scoring and playmaking. He is coming off a 25-point, 7-rebound, 5-assist performance against Memphis and has scored 20 or more points in seven of his last ten contests. His backcourt battle with Salt Lake City’s guards will be critical.

Salt Lake City will look to break its skid by leveraging Tshiebwe’s interior dominance and improving its defensive focus after recent high-scoring losses. The Stars won the teams’ only previous meeting this season, 144-130, on Dec. 31.

Sioux Falls aims to continue its strong play at home, relying on Christopher’s offensive versatility and the support of recent high-scoring contributors like Trevor Keels and Jahmir Young. Protecting home court could help them close the gap in the standings.

The game tips off at 7 p.m. local time. The teams will meet again at the same venue Sunday.
