Osceola vs. Greensboro

Preview: Osceola Magic at Greensboro Swarm

GREENSBORO, N.C. (Interstat) — A clash of G League titans is set for Saturday when the Greensboro Swarm host the Osceola Magic at Greensboro Coliseum Fieldhouse.

The matchup features two of the league’s top teams, with the Swarm (17-7) holding a slim one-game lead over the Magic (16-8) in the standings. Both clubs enter on winning notes, setting the stage for a high-stakes January showdown.

Osceola arrives riding a wave of momentum, having won seven of its last eight games. The Magic are coming off a dominant 130-109 road victory at College Park on Monday. In that win, Alex Morales scored 24 points, Lester Quinones poured in 27 and Will Baker added a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Morales, a forward, has been a consistent force for Osceola. Over his last 10 games, he is averaging a near double-double, including a 28-point, 12-rebound, 6-assist performance in a narrow loss to Windy City on Jan. 2. His versatility will be key against a tough Greensboro frontcourt.

The Swarm snapped a two-game skid with a 123-111 road win at Westchester on Thursday. Greensboro’s success has been fueled by balance and guard play, led by K.J. Simpson. The playmaker is averaging 14.8 points and 6.3 assists over his last six contests, including a 20-point, 8-assist effort in a win over Iowa on Dec. 27.

Greensboro has been formidable at home, boasting decisive victories over Texas and Iowa during a recent homestand. The Swarm will look to protect their home floor and create separation in the standings.

For Osceola, continuing its strong play on the road — where it has won five straight — will be critical. The Magic have shown offensive firepower, scoring 130 or more points in three of their last five outings.

This contest marks the only scheduled meeting between the teams this season, adding to its importance for potential playoff positioning. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. EST on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026.

Following this game, Greensboro will travel to face Birmingham on Monday. Osceola’s next contest is at Westchester on Jan. 24.
