Windy City vs. San Diego

Preview: Windy City Bulls at San Diego Clippers

SAN DIEGO (Interstat) — The San Diego Clippers look to solidify their position above .500 when they host the struggling Windy City Bulls in a G League matchup Thursday night at Frontwave Arena.

The Clippers (13-10) enter the contest having split a two-game set with Iowa last weekend, most recently falling 105-98 on Saturday. San Diego has been inconsistent, alternating wins and losses over its last six games.

Windy City (11-12) seeks to halt a two-game slide after a 128-120 home loss to Noblesville on Sunday. The Bulls have lost four of their last six outings.

A key matchup will feature two of the league’s most productive forwards. San Diego’s Patrick Baldwin Jr. is coming off a career-high 36-point performance in the loss to Iowa, adding seven rebounds and three assists. Over his last five games, Baldwin is averaging 23.2 points, 8.0 rebounds and 4.6 assists.

He will be countered by Windy City’s Emanuel Miller, who has posted five double-doubles in his last 10 games. Miller is averaging 18.3 points and 9.4 rebounds over his last seven contests, including a 32-point, 12-rebound effort in a win at Motor City on Dec. 27.

In Sunday’s loss, Miller led the Bulls with 18 points and eight rebounds, receiving support from Lachlan Olbrich (19 points, 10 rebounds) and Kevin Knox (18 points, 11 rebounds).

For San Diego, guard Jaelen House, who dished nine assists alongside 17 points against Iowa, will be a focal point in the backcourt.

The game opens a brief one-game homestand for the Clippers before a two-game trip to Mexico City. The Bulls continue a four-game road swing, their next home game not scheduled until Feb. 5.

Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. PST Thursday.
