Maine Celtics Use Dominant Second Quarter to Topple Salt Lake City Stars

PORTLAND, Maine (Interstat) — The Maine Celtics used a 40-point second quarter to build a decisive lead and held off a late rally to defeat the Salt Lake City Stars 102-94 in a G League game Thursday night at Portland Exposition Building.

Maine outscored Salt Lake City by 16 in the period, fueled by Jalen Bridges’ hot shooting, to take control after a 21-21 first quarter. The Stars chipped away and closed to within two points in the fourth quarter, but the Celtics secured the win at the free-throw line.

Amari Williams led Maine with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Max Abmas scored 21 points for Salt Lake City. The Celtics improved to 13-9, while the Stars fell to 17-4. The teams meet again in Portland on Friday.
