Memphis vs. Osceola
KISSIMMEE, Fla. (Interstat) — A swift rematch awaits the Osceola Magic and Memphis Hustle on Sunday at Silver Spurs Arena, just days after a high-scoring affair that snapped Osceola’s win streak.
The Magic (8-4), who lead the G League’s Southeast Division, will seek to avenge a 132-121 road loss to the Hustle this past Thursday. That defeat ended a three-game winning streak for Osceola. The Hustle (5-7) enter having won two of their last three, with both victories featuring explosive offensive performances.
The matchup hinges on a compelling duel between two of the league’s hottest scorers. Memphis forward G.G. Jackson, coming off a dominant 23-point, 13-rebound, 4-assist, 3-block performance in Thursday’s win over Osceola, has averaged 21.0 points over his last three games. He will be countered by Osceola guard Lester Quinones, who torched the Hustle for 33 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the previous meeting. Quinones is averaging 26.3 points over his last six contests, including a 30-point outing in a win over Oklahoma City on Dec. 6.
In Thursday’s game, Memphis’ Olivier-Maxence Prosper led all scorers with 30 points, while Osceola’s Alex Morales added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. The Hustle’s ability to replicate their 132-point offensive output, which matched their second-highest total this season, will be tested against a Magic team that ranks among the league’s best defensively.
Osceola holds a significant edge in the standings and has been strong at home this season. Memphis, however, has shown it can compete with the division leaders, making this a critical early-season barometer for both clubs. The teams will meet again at Silver Spurs Arena on Tuesday, concluding a rare two-game, three-day mini-series.
Sunday’s tipoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. EST.
