Capitanes Hold Off Late Rally, Defeat Legends in High-Scoring G League Matchup
MEXICO CITY (Interstat) — The Mexico City Capitanes built a commanding first-half lead and withstood a late charge to defeat the Texas Legends 119-105 in a G League game Monday at Estadio Azteca.
The Capitanes led 67-44 at halftime behind a dominant early performance. The Legends mounted a 39-point fourth-quarter rally but could not close the gap. Boo Buie and Isaih Moore led a balanced Mexico City attack.
Dalano Banton and Matthew Cleveland paced Texas in the loss. The Capitanes evened their season record to 4-5, while the Legends fell to 4-6. Mexico City won the finale of a three-game set after Texas took the first two meetings last week.
