Greensboro vs. Delaware

WILMINGTON, Del. (Interstat) — In a high-octane offensive showcase, the Greensboro Swarm remained undefeated by outlasting the Delaware Blue Coats 145-129 in a G League matchup Saturday night at 76ers Fieldhouse.

The Swarm improved to 4-0 across all competitions, while the Blue Coats fell to 1-2. The game was a rematch of a Thursday contest that Greensboro also won.

Greensboro’s offense operated with historic efficiency, scoring 145 points on just 104 possessions for an offensive rating of 139.6. The Swarm built their lead with a dominant second quarter, outscoring the Blue Coats 35-21 to take a 74-57 advantage into halftime after a tightly contested first period.

The Swarm’s attack was fueled by exceptional three-point shooting, connecting on 19 of 35 attempts from beyond the arc. D.J. Rodman led the long-range assault, coming off the bench to score a game-high 30 points, largely on 6-for-9 shooting from three-point range. Greensboro also capitalized at the free-throw line, making 21 of 25 attempts.

Greensboro’s backcourt orchestrated the victory. Point guard Terrell Brown tallied 22 points and dished out eight assists, while small forward Drew Peterson filled the stat sheet with 20 points, six rebounds and six assists. The Swarm also received significant contributions from Jaylen Sims with 20 points and Keyontae Johnson with 18 points and six assists.

Despite the loss, Delaware’s Johni Broome delivered a powerful performance, recording a double-double with 26 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots. Blue Coats point guard Kennedy Chandler, from Bel Aire, Kansas, matched Broome’s scoring output with 26 points of his own and added eight assists.

Delaware mounted a furious comeback attempt in the final quarter, erupting for 43 points, but could not overcome the substantial deficit as Greensboro answered with 34 points of its own in the period to secure the win. The Blue Coats shot 46 of 101 from the field but were hampered by 10-of-28 shooting from three-point range.

Greensboro won the rebounding battle 46-40 and committed 17 turnovers to Delaware’s 11 in a game that featured 56 total fouls.

The Swarm look to continue their perfect start when they host Raptors 905 on Wednesday. The Blue Coats will seek to get back on the road Friday with a game at Maine.
