Oklahoma City vs. Rio Grande Valley

EDINBURG, Texas (Interstat) — The Rio Grande Valley Vipers will open their 2025-26 NBA G League season at home against the Oklahoma City Blue on Friday night at Bert Ogden Arena.

Both teams enter the contest with 0-0 records, as this marks the first game of the new campaign for each club. The matchup will be the season opener for the entire league.

The teams last met in the 2024-25 season, but will look considerably different with new rosters built around assignees from their respective NBA affiliates, the Houston Rockets (Vipers) and Oklahoma City Thunder (Blue).

Oklahoma City concluded its previous season with a 119-112 road victory over the Sioux Falls Skyforce on March 29. Rio Grande Valley’s last outing was a 129-102 road loss to the Salt Lake City Stars on April 1.

The game kicks off a challenging early schedule for the Blue, who will play seven of their next 10 games on the road following Friday’s contest. The Vipers, meanwhile, will enjoy a stretch of home cooking, with their next two games also at Bert Ogden Arena.

Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CST.
