College Park vs. Raptors 905

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario (Interstat) — The Raptors 905 opened their G League season with a dominant offensive display, routing the College Park Skyhawks 130-94 on Friday night at the Hershey Centre.

The home team’s offense was relentless from the start, building a 57-41 lead by halftime and never looking back. A 40-point explosion in the fourth quarter turned the contest into a blowout and secured a 1-0 start to the season for Raptors 905, while the Skyhawks begin their campaign 0-1.

The Raptors’ attack was a balanced and efficient affair, featuring several standout performances. Alijah Martin led the scoring charge with 22 points, adding 6 rebounds and 5 assists. A.J. Lawson matched his scoring output with 24 points of his own. The offense ran smoothly through point guard Chucky Hepburn, who dished out 10 assists to go with his 12 points.

In the frontcourt, Jonathan Mogbo was a force, recording a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Tyreke Key provided a significant spark off the bench, contributing 15 points and 4 rebounds.

Despite the lopsided final score, College Park had individual bright spots. Jacob Toppin delivered a strong performance, posting a double-double with a team-high 24 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Dwight Murray orchestrated the Skyhawks’ offense with a double-double of his own, scoring 15 points and distributing 10 assists. Eli N’Diaye added 16 points and Javan Johnson chipped in 17.

The game’s opening moments were a sloppy affair for both sides, featuring a series of misses and turnovers before A.J. Lawson finally broke the seal for Raptors 905 with a two-point shot. The first quarter remained competitive, with the Raptors holding a narrow 23-16 lead after one period.

The second quarter is where Raptors 905 began to create separation. A 34-point frame, fueled by efficient shooting and ball movement, stretched their lead to 16 points at the break. The Skyhawks showed signs of life in the third quarter, scoring 26 points, but could not slow down the Raptors, who answered with 33 points of their own to extend their advantage.

Any hope of a College Park comeback was extinguished in the final period as Raptors 905 erupted for 40 points, turning the game into a showcase for their deep and potent roster.

The two teams will meet again quickly, with a rematch scheduled for Sunday at the Hershey Centre. College Park then returns home to face Capital City on Nov. 14, while Raptors 905 will host Maine on Nov. 12.
