SHIJIAZHUANG, China (Interstat) — Shijiazhuang Kungfu hosts Jinan Xingzhou FC on Friday, June 5, in Week 2 of the China League One season, a matchup defined by two conflicting forecasts from the same analytics service.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 1-0 victory for the visiting Jinan side, while Interstat’s ELO system gives Shijiazhuang a 71.90 percent probability of winning. The discrepancy underscores the uncertainty surrounding both clubs after long layoffs.

Shijiazhuang opened its 2026 campaign Friday after its most recent competitive outing — a 2-2 draw at home against Dalian Kuncheng FC on Nov. 8, 2025. That result ended a rough stretch for the club, which failed to win in its final three matches of the previous season. The team has had more than six months to regroup but also faces questions about roster continuity.

Jinan Xingzhou’s last match came even earlier: a 2-0 loss at Dongguan United on Nov. 4, 2023. The extended break — nearly 2½ years — raises concerns about match fitness and rhythm, though the club has used the time to train and rebuild under new leadership.

Friday’s contest is the second match of the China League One season for both sides. The league’s schedule was restructured after the 2025 campaign, making the early stages critical for teams aiming for promotion.

Shijiazhuang will rely on home-field advantage at its stadium in the capital of Hebei province. The club has traditionally been strong at home, especially early in the season. Jinan, based in Shandong, will travel south looking to steal points on the road.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. local time. The match will be broadcast on the league’s streaming platform.
