TRUJILLO, Peru (Interstat) — Carlos Mannucci defeated Union Comercio 1-0 on Wednesday in a Week 14 Peruvian Primera Division match at Estadio Mansiche. Juan Matías Succar Cañote scored the decisive goal in the 69th minute, finishing an assist from Raziel García. The home side sealed the result in stoppage time when substitute Javier Núñez Mendoza added a second goal. The victory marked a positive start to the league campaign for Mannucci, while Union Comercio fell in its opener. The match featured three yellow cards, issued to Mannucci’s Tarek Carranza and Union Comercio’s Paulo Goyoneche and Kelvin Sánchez. The result defied a national statistical projection of a draw, though Mannucci was a heavy pregame favorite.
