AMATITLÁN, Guatemala (Interstat) — Kalmar U21 and Varnamo U21 played to a 1-1 draw Sunday in a Swedish U21 League match staged unusually at Estadio Municipal Guillermo Slowing.

Varnamo’s Daniel Bajan opened the scoring in the 21st minute. Kalmar equalized in the 70th minute via Nicolas Martinez. The result defied a pregame projection that favored Kalmar U21 to win.

The match was a Week 3 fixture in the SWE: U21 League. Both clubs now hold identical 1-1-1 records in the competition this season. The teams are scheduled to meet again in Sweden on March 7.
