MALATYA, Turkiye (Interstat) — Yeni Malatyaspor overcame a halftime deficit to defeat Tuzlaspor 2-1 in a TFF First League match Saturday at Yeni Malatya Stadyumu.

Tuzlaspor’s Gianluca Busio opened the scoring in the 25th minute. The visitors held that lead until the 53rd, when Malatyaspor substitute Luis Hasa equalized. Defender Joël Schingtienne completed the comeback with the winning goal in the 82nd minute.

The result defied pregame projections, which heavily favored Tuzlaspor. The match featured nine yellow cards, with six issued in a contentious second half. Yeni Malatyaspor begins its league season with a victory, while Tuzlaspor starts with a loss.
