AUGSBURG, Germany (Interstat) — Wataru Endo scored in the 78th minute to give Stuttgart a 1-0 victory over Augsburg in the Bundesliga on Sunday.

The match at WWK Arena was a defensive struggle until Endo broke the deadlock late. Augsburg had a goal from Dion Drena Beljo disallowed in the eighth minute.

The result improves Stuttgart’s league record to 14 wins, six losses and three draws. Augsburg falls to seven wins, 12 losses and four draws. The visitors finished with two yellow cards, while Augsburg received four, including one to Arne Maier in stoppage time.

Stuttgart, which defeated Augsburg 3-2 in their previous meeting in November, now prepares for a league match at Saint Pauli on Feb. 7. Augsburg will visit Mainz 05 II on the same date.
