FIRENZE, Italy (Jan. 31, 2026) (Interstat) — Basel scored twice in the final 20 minutes to erase a deficit and secure a 2-1 comeback victory over Fiorentina in UEFA Europa Conference League play Saturday at Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Arthur Cabral gave the Italian side the lead in the 25th minute, finishing an assist from Lucas Martínez Quarta. The home side held that advantage until the 71st minute, when Andy Diouf leveled for the Swiss visitors, assisted by Taulant Xhaka.

Basel completed the dramatic turnaround in second-half stoppage time. Substitute Darian Males found Mohamed Amdouni, who netted the winner in the 92nd minute. Basel received three yellow cards in the match. The result marked a significant upset, as statistical models heavily favored Fiorentina to win. The two teams meet again in Switzerland on Sunday.
