ALKMAAR, Netherlands (Interstat) — Substitute Pablo Fornals scored in the fourth minute of second-half stoppage time Sunday, salvaging a 2-2 draw for West Ham United against AZ in UEFA Europa Conference League play at AFAS Stadion.

The dramatic equalizer came against the run of pregame projections, which heavily favored the Dutch side. Interstat’s game simulator had predicted a 2-1 victory for AZ, which was given a 60.1 percent probability to win by its ELO system.

The match featured physical play, with West Ham’s Tomáš Souček and Jan Thilo Kehrer receiving yellow cards in the 60th and 64th minutes, respectively. The draw leaves West Ham unbeaten in the competition this season, while AZ is still seeking its first win in the tournament.
