LA SPEZIA, Italy (Interstat) — Genclerbirligi SK defeated Altay 1-0 on Saturday in a TFF 1. Lig match at Stadio Alberto Picco. Forward Gabriele Artistico scored the game’s lone goal in the 26th minute.

The result gave Genclerbirligi a winning start to its league campaign, while Altay began with a loss. The match was physical, featuring 10 yellow cards. Altay’s Eren Erdoğan received a booking in stoppage time.

Genclerbirligi defied a Interstat projection that had forecast a 1-1 draw, instead securing a narrow victory that statistical models had given them a 60.9% chance to achieve.
