Helsingborgs U21 vs Landskrona U21

HELSINGBORG, Sweden (Interstat) — A new Swedish U21 League campaign kicks off Sunday with a Skåne derby as Helsingborgs U21 hosts Landskrona U21 at Olympiafältet Plan 7.

The season opener pits two rivals seeking a fast start after concluding their previous campaigns with defeats. Helsingborgs fell 3-1 at powerhouse Malmö FF U21 on Sept. 3, while Landskrona dropped a 2-1 home decision to Mjällby U21 on Sept. 8.

Despite those results, statistical models favor the home side. Interstat’s ELO rating system gives Helsingborgs a 75.40% probability to win the match. However, the same outlet’s game simulator predicts a 2-2 draw, suggesting a potentially tight contest to open Week 1.

The matchup offers an early chance for either squad to gain a psychological edge in the local rivalry. The teams will meet again in just over two weeks on Feb. 18, when Landskrona hosts the return fixture.

Sunday’s game launches a congested February schedule for both clubs. Following the derby, Landskrona faces a demanding stretch of three matches in six days, including home games against Malmö FF U21 and a trip to Halmstad U21.

Helsingborgs, meanwhile, prepares for a quick rematch with Malmö FF U21 on Feb. 17 before the second derby against Landskrona the following day.

Coaches are expected to lean on returning academy talents while potentially integrating new prospects. The venue, Olympiafältet Plan 7, provides a familiar setting for Helsingborgs’ young squad as they look to translate their statistical favoritism into a winning start.

For Landskrona, the challenge will be overcoming the ELO odds and securing a positive road result to build momentum ahead of their grueling upcoming slate.

Kickoff is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026.
