(Interstat) — In a decisive UEFA U19 Championship qualification match Thursday, host Emmen U21 dominated Roda JC U21 with a 5-1 victory at De Oude Meerdijk. The result upended a pregame projection that favored Roda JC U21. Emmen’s attack was relentless, led by Mirela Petrova’s two goals. She opened the scoring in the ninth minute, followed by strikes from Raya Boneva, substitute Yelizaveta Medvedeva, Monika Baliova and Andrea Boyadzhieva. All five Emmen goals were scored before the hour mark. The lopsided win in this NED U21 Divisie 2 fixture gives Emmen a winning start to the competition, while Roda JC suffered its first loss. The outcome contrasted sharply with statistical forecasts, as Emmen capitalized on its slight favoritism in probability models with an emphatic performance.
