LUGANO, Switzerland (Interstat) — Daniel Correia’s 59th-minute goal lifted MTK U19 to a 1-0 victory over Békéscsaba U19 in a Hungarian U19 playoff match Saturday at Stadio di Cornaredo.

The match, part of the HUN: U19 Play-offs 1/2, was a defensive struggle that defied pregame projections. Interstat’s game simulator had predicted a 1-0 win for Békéscsaba, while its ELO system gave MTK a 92.7% chance to win.

Correia, a midfielder, broke the deadlock off assists from substitutes Michael Heule and Genís. The game was marked by discipline issues, with five yellow cards issued, including one to goalscorer Correia’s assist provider Genís in the fifth minute.

The result gives MTK U19 a winning start in the playoff phase, moving to 1-0, while Békéscsaba U19 begins 0-1.
