Kaedi needed only two minutes to take the lead. The visiting side scored in the 2nd minute, quieting the home crowd and forcing Gendrim to chase the game from the start. Gendrim did not take long to answer. In the 16th minute, Gendrim found the equalizer, restoring parity and shifting momentum back toward the home side. The goal settled Gendrim, which began to string together possession and push Kaedi deeper. Gendrim’s passing became sharper, and Kaedi had to defend with more numbers behind the ball.

Gendrim moved in front in the 33rd minute. The home side’s second goal completed the turnaround and gave Gendrim a lead it would not relinquish. Kaedi tried to respond before halftime, but Gendrim’s defense held and the home team carried a one-goal advantage into the break. After halftime, Gendrim continued to press and looked the more dangerous side as Kaedi searched for a way back into the match. The home team won more of the ball in midfield and kept Kaedi from building sustained attacks.

The decisive third goal arrived in the 66th minute. Gendrim scored again to stretch its lead to 3-1 and create a two-goal cushion. The goal gave the home side breathing room and forced Kaedi to take more risks in the final third. Kaedi’s hopes of a comeback suffered a further blow in the 77th minute when it was shown a red card. The sending-off left Kaedi with 10 men for the remainder of the match and made the closing stages even more difficult. Gendrim used the numerical advantage to slow the pace and protect its lead. Kaedi struggled to create clear chances after the red card, and Gendrim kept possession in the closing minutes.

Gendrim managed the final stretch without conceding. Kaedi could not find a second goal, and Gendrim closed out the win. The victory continued Gendrim’s strong start in the competition. Kaedi’s overall record mirrors its competition record, while Gendrim’s overall mark is also identical to its competition mark. The home side managed the closing minutes with discipline and did not allow Kaedi a clear route back into the match.

Kaedi entered the match after a loss at Police and a draw with Armee in its previous competition outings. Gendrim came in after a draw at Chemal and a win at Douane. Those results set up a match between sides in different form, and Gendrim’s recent momentum carried over after the early Kaedi goal. Gendrim’s response was quick and sustained, with goals in the 16th, 33rd and 66th minutes turning the match around. Kaedi’s early goal in the 2nd minute was the only scoring moment for the visitors, and the red card in the 77th minute further complicated its attempt to rally. Gendrim’s defense limited Kaedi’s chances after the sending-off and kept the visitors from cutting the deficit. The visitors’ early breakthrough had briefly changed the mood, but Gendrim’s response quickly restored the home side’s control.
