Alajuelense moved to 3-0-3 in the competition and 4-0-4 across all competitions. Saprissa is now 1-3-1 in the competition and 2-3-2 overall. Yellow cards went to Alajuelense’s Gamboa in the 5th minute and Sosa in the 9th before Saprissa’s Williams was booked in the 30th. Gonzalez and Perez received yellow cards for Alajuelense in the 51st and 59th minutes, and Soto was cautioned for Saprissa in the 64th. Alajuelense made substitutions in the 54th, 70th and 81st minutes. Saprissa made changes in the 65th, 77th and 87th minutes. Neither side found a breakthrough in the scoreless match. The teams combined for six yellow cards. The match remained scoreless through the second half and stoppage time.
