Estudiantes Rally From Three-Goal Deficit to Draw Instituto

LA PLATA (Interstat) — Estudiantes L.P. erased a three-goal deficit and scored late to earn a 3-3 draw with Instituto at Country Club de Estudiantes de La Plata in La Plata, Provincia de Buenos Aires, on Saturday. Instituto built a commanding lead with three unanswered goals, but Estudiantes responded with three goals after the break to secure a share of the points in a match that changed direction in the second half.

Instituto opened the scoring in the third minute when Facundo Suarez scored. The visitors doubled their advantage early in the second half through Leonel Mosevich in the 48th minute, and E. Cordoba Mosquera J. made it 3-0 in the 52nd minute. Mosevich also received a yellow card in the 34th minute. Instituto’s early finishing put Estudiantes in a deep hole, and the home side needed a quick response to stay in the match. That response began when Guido Carrillo scored in the 58th minute. Carrillo completed the match and finished with one goal.

The first half produced one goal and several bookings. Alarcon F. R. was cautioned for Instituto in the 12th minute, D. Sosa followed in the 19th, and Piovi was booked for Estudiantes in the 20th. S. Estudiantes continued to push for an equalizer and found it in the 86th minute when Perez Fabricio scored after coming on as a late substitute. Perez Fabricio’s goal came shortly after Estudiantes had replaced Palacios and Benedetti G. in the 85th minute, and Cetre’s assist helped complete the home side’s recovery.
