Svay Rieng Routs Tampines 5‑1 Behind Early Scoring Surge

TAMPINES, Singapore (Interstat) — Svay Rieng scored four times before halftime and added another after the break to beat Tampines 5-1 on Thursday, turning an early attacking surge into a decisive competition result. Martins Junior opened the scoring in the ninth minute and finished with one goal and one assist over 64 minutes. Tiago Alves doubled the lead in the 15th minute and struck again in the 24th, giving him two goals in 46 minutes. Kwame Preprah made it 4-0 in the 42nd minute and played the full 90 minutes.

The visitors’ pressure produced goals in quick succession and left Tampines chasing the match from early on. Takaki Ose played 90 minutes and recorded an assist, while Takashi Odawara also went the full match and had an assist along with a yellow card in the 29th minute. Tampines’ Kobayashi Y. was booked in the sixth minute. Silvester Van Der Water recorded an assist over 64 minutes as Svay Rieng maintained its attacking thrust through the second half.

Ofufu Ibeh added Svay Rieng’s fifth goal in the 69th minute, finishing with one goal in 26 minutes. Tampines avoided a shutout when Raoul Suhaimi scored in the 90th minute, a goal assisted by Takeshi Yoshimoto, who played 44 minutes. Suhaimi’s goal came late in a match that had already been shaped by Svay Rieng’s first-half run. The visitors’ scoring was distributed across Martins, Alves, Preprah and Ibeh, with Ose, Odawara and Van Der Water also contributing assists.

Svay Rieng entered after a 2-2 draw with Visakha and a 4-1 win over Boeung Ket, while Tampines had beaten Jurong 3-2 and drawn 0-0 with Lion City. Svay Rieng’s competition record is now 1-0-1, and its record across all competitions stands at 4-4-2. Tampines dropped to 0-2 in this competition and 3-2-2 across all competitions. The match followed a stretch of uneven results for both sides, but Svay Rieng’s finishing in the opening half separated the teams well before the final whistle.

Tampines’ best response came through Suhaimi’s late goal and Yoshimoto’s assist, but the home side could not reduce the deficit earlier. Svay Rieng’s early control was built on Martins’ opener, Alves’ two-goal burst and Preprah’s goal before halftime. The second-half goal from Ibeh completed the visitors’ scoring, while the yellow cards for Kobayashi and Odawara were the only bookings in a match otherwise dominated by Svay Rieng’s attack. Tampines’ record in the competition remained without a win after the loss.

Interstat’s game simulator had projected a final score of Tampines 4, Svay Rieng 2. Interstat’s ELO system had projected Tampines with a 71.5 percent probability to win. Svay Rieng had been installed as a pregame favorite with a spread of -0.25. The total score of 6 went under the over/under line of 3.5.
