G’UZOR, Uzbekistan (Interstat) — Yuri Klochkov scored in the eighth minute and Shortan Guzor held on to beat Aral 1-0 on Tuesday at Stadion G’uzor. Klochkov’s early strike proved enough in a match Shortan Guzor controlled narrowly. The home side improved its competition record to two wins, one loss and one draw, and its overall record also stands at two wins, one loss and one draw. Aral fell to three wins and one loss in the competition, matching its overall record. Shortan Guzor had entered after a 2-1 loss at Gazalkent, a 1-1 draw at Metallurg Bekabad and a 3-1 home win over Jayxun. Aral had beaten Jayxun 2-0 at home, won 2-1 at Pakhtakor II and defeated TerDU 3-0 at home. Klochkov’s eighth-minute goal was the only score of the contest, and Shortan Guzor’s defense preserved the lead through the final whistle.
