KAIROUAN, Tunisia (Interstat) — Mohamed Oueslati scored in the 48th minute as JS Kairouan defeated EGS Gafsa 1-0 on Tuesday at Stade Hamda Laouani. The home side broke through shortly after halftime and protected the narrow lead through the closing stages. The win moved JS Kairouan to 3-2 in the competition and 3-2 across all competitions, while EGS Gafsa dropped to 1-4 in the competition and 1-4 overall. JS Kairouan entered after losses to Kasserine and Ksour Essef and wins over Kalaa and Jendouba Sport. EGS Gafsa had a 3-0 home win over CO Medenine and losses to Olympique Kef, Korba and Kasserine. Oueslati’s second-half goal proved decisive at Stade Hamda Laouani in Kairouan. EGS Gafsa pressed for an equalizer but could not beat the home defense, leaving JS Kairouan with its third competition win and EGS Gafsa with its fourth loss.
