The visitors played the final stages with 10 men after the dismissal, then found the breakthrough late to hand the home side a narrow loss. Umm-Salal improved to 1-0 in the competition and 3-1-1 across all competitions. Al-Waab fell to 0-1 in the competition and 2-1-2 overall. Umm-Salal’s defense held firm after the sending-off, while Al-Waab pressed for an equalizer but could not convert. The result gave Umm-Salal a road victory and left Al-Waab still seeking its first competition win.
